Roasted Turnips


  • 2 lbs. turnips
  • 1 T olive oil
  • Salt
  • Spices (if desired)

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.    2. Rinse turnips and cut into large-ish bite-sized chunks.    3. Put into a large baking dish, drizzle with olive oil.    4. With hands or a large spoon, gently toss until turnips are coated with oil.     5. Sprinkle with salt and spices.    6. Roast in oven until turnips are tender and browned (about 30 minutes).


This recipe is actually a method and you should feel free to change the amount to suit your needs.Try adding herbs (rosemary is particularly yummy) or spices or combine with other root vegetables as you like.
